“Fondation Liban Cinéma” (FLC) is a non-profit private association created in February 2003, whose objective is to participate in the development of cinema industry in Lebanon, through the support of creation, production and promotion of films, on the local as well as regional and international level.

Since its creation, FLC is present in several areas, and via its activities it plays a federating role in the Lebanese audiovisual sector:
 
 
  • FLC participates in Regional and International Festivals and Film Markets, such as Cannes, Cairo, and Dubai… in order to present recent Lebanese films.
  • FLC promotes Lebanon as a potential regional center of production and postproduction in order to develop cinema industry in Lebanon. For this, FLC highlights the country’s rich natural, historical and cultural heritage, as well as its highly competitive human and technical resources.
  • FLC works for the preservation of Lebanese cinema heritage through the restoration and digital transfer of old feature films and the 16mm archives of Télé-Liban.
  • FLC participates in the continuous training of filmmakers, a necessary effort for this sector in constant evolution. Several annual specialized workshops & seminars are organized on different themes.
  • FLC is preparing a database on the Lebanese audiovisual landscape, in Lebanon and abroad. It will be online by end 2009.  
  • FLC enhances the development of film production by organizing pitching sessions, by offering prizes and grants, and by creating opportunities of support to the financing of films.
  • FLC works on the creation of a fund for the support of development, production and promotion of films.
