 THE OBJECTIVES OF FONDATION LIBAN CINEMA

 “Fondation Liban Cinéma” (FLC) is a non-profit private association created in February 2003, whose objective is to participate in the development of cinema industry in Lebanon, through the support of creation, production and promotion of films, on the local as well as regional and international level.

Since its creation, FLC is present in several areas, and via its activities it plays a federating role in the Lebanese audiovisual sector:

  • FLC participates in Regional and International Festivals and Film Markets, such as Cannes, Cairo, and Dubai… in order to present recent Lebanese films. 
  • FLC promotes Lebanon as a filming destination and a potential regional center of production and postproduction in order to develop cinema industry in Lebanon. For this, FLC highlights the country’s rich natural, historical and cultural heritage, as well as its highly competitive human and technical resources.
  • FLC works for the preservation of Lebanese cinema heritage through the restoration and digital transfer of old feature films and the archives of Télé-Liban.
  • FLC participates in the continuous training of filmmakers, a necessary effort for this sector in constant evolution.  Several annual specialized workshops & seminars are organized on different themes.
  • FLC is preparing a database on the Lebanese audiovisual landscape in Lebanon and the Lebanese professionals in the Diaspora.  
  • FLC enhances the development of film production by organizing pitching sessions, by offering prizes and grants, and by creating opportunities of support to the financing of films.
  • FLC works on the creation of a fund for the support of development, production and promotion of films.

Cette année, le ciné-club de l’ESA en partenariat avec la Fondation Liban Cinéma, propose des courts métrages libanais qui précéderont les longs métrages, dans le but de promouvoir le cinéma libanais et soutenir les réalisateurs libanais. De même, le ciné-club présente cette année des cycles par pays afin de soutenir l’action culturelle des ambassades. L’ESA et la FLC ont donc le plaisir de vous annoncer le début du cycle "Hommage à la Belgique" le mardi 11 janvier 2011 à 20h30 précises, sur le campus de l’ESA - 289 rue Clemenceau, avec à l’affiche, les documentaires et films suivants: 11 janvier: Court-métrage libanais: "Shattered Memories" de Lara Saba, produit par la FLC Film: "Les Barons" de Nabil Ben Yadir. 18 janvier: Court-métrage libanais: "Le Liban à travers le cinéma" de Hady Zaccak, produit par la FLC. Film: "C'est arrivé près de chez vous" de Rémy Belvaux 25 janvier: Court-métrage libanais: "Ecce Hommos" de Claude El Khal Film: "L'enfant" de Jean-Pierre et Luc Dardenne Les billets sont à 3000 LL
