A precious donation by Jean-Pierre Goux Pelletan…
He returned to France after having lived for more than fifty years in Lebanon; who doesn’t remember this man fond of cinema, the journalist, the teacher, and the critic who made the wonderful days of the ciné-clubs of the capital, especially the “Ciné-club of Beirut” and who have given so many memories to generations of film buffs.
Jean-Pierre offered his entire library to Aimée Boulos with whom he had collaborated for many years in the ciné-club of ALDEC then in the ciné-club of Iesav. In her turn, Aimée Boulos transmitted this donation to Fondation Liban Cinéma so that the name of Jean-Pierre Goux Pelletan remains present in Lebanon.
This true cinema treasure is currently being sorted and archived. The books, magazines, documents, catalogues and photos…cover a period from the 1940 to the 2000. Once ready, the library will be open to the public for research (borrowing will not be possible but it is possible to make photocopies at the Fondation).
This generous donation testifies of the love that Jean-Pierre has for Lebanon that he considers as his second nation. He leaves a part of himself to Lebanese film lovers who meant so much for him and to whom he dedicates this magnificent library, the harvest of a lifetime.
